The Perfect Bathtub
With the latest bathroom novelties at our fingertips many home owners have both a shower and bathtub installed. Showers may be perfect for daily cleaning rituals, but when it comes to relaxation, the tub usually wins.
Buying the ideal bathtub can be tricky, and even though the shape and fixtures of the tub must speak to the “soul”, the perfect lounging depth and length should be of a bigger concern. If a household consists of several members always have the tallest person sit in the tub and get their approval before committing to a buy.
When installing a bathtub it is vital to address the area surrounding the tub, especially if you want it to be near a window, capturing a breathtaking view. Pay attention to window treatments and garden fixtures. They should allow you to look out, but without others seeing you. Also verify that your home’s water heater has at least two-thirds of the capacity of your tub. More would be better, especially if you have a jetted tub.
There are many different tub styles, from the elegant Victorian claw foot bathtub, to the moving-water whirlpool or air kind. These do not include those tubs with a built-in seat, or the luxury walk-in bathtub with a side entrance door, a wonderful and safe design for those who need easy access, such as the elderly and disabled people. The thing to keep in mind with walk-in bathtubs is that you cannot turn on your water until you are actually in the tub and you cannot leave before all the water has drained.
Whirlpools and air tubs are often preferred over regular tubs because of their controlled water movement, which provides the effects of a relaxing massage. These tubs may be a bit tougher to clean and can also be rather noisy, depending on how fast the motor and pumps are working.
Today, there are so many different types of bathtubs available it should not be difficult to find the exact one you are looking for. If not, I am certain manufacturers can easily custom built you one, right onsite and to your exact stipulations.
